2. 30 Hours Free Childcare for Working Parents
Working parents may be eligible for an additional 15 hours per week, totaling 30 hours of free childcare for 38 weeks, or 1,140 hours per year. To qualify, each parent (or the sole parent in a single-parent household) must earn at least the equivalent of 16 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage and less than £100,000 per year.
3. Tax-Free Childcare
For every £8 you pay into an online childcare account, the government adds £2, up to £2,000 per child per year (£4,000 for children with disabilities). This scheme is available for children up to the age of 12 (or 17 for those with disabilities).
4. Free Childcare for Eligible 2-Year-Olds
Some 2-year-olds may be eligible for 15 hours of free childcare per week if they meet certain criteria, such as receiving specific benefits or having special educational needs.
5. Universal Credit for Childcare Costs
If you are on Universal Credit, you may be able to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs, up to a monthly limit of £646 for one child or £1,108 for two or more children.
